OUR GOALS FOR EACH AND EVERY CHILD AT CREATIVE KIDS

  • Emotional Maturity - Is the child independent, self-motivated, able to make choices, happily involved in the setting?

  • Social skills - Is the child able to get along with others, make friends, take part in conversation?
  • Listening skills - Is the child able to listen to stories, follow directions, focus on activities?
  • Oral/expressive skills - Is the child able to express his wants and needs, repeat rhymes, songs and stories, contribute ideas?
  • Self-help skills - Is the child responsible for her personal belongings and her personal needs, does she clean up after herself, dress herself?
  • Learning skills - Is the child able to find solutions, solve age-appropriate puzzles, repeat age-appropriate sequences and patterns?
  • Positive self-esteem - Is the child growing more confident in what she can do, developing friendships, feeling good about herself?
  • Creative thinking skills - Is the child able to think divergently (see more than one solution), share new ideas, be inventive in his thinking process?
  • Physical skills - Is the child able to play action games, do simple exercises, participate in small and large motor activities?
  • Creative music and movement experiences - Is the child able to think of new ways to move, sing new words to songs, design and implement new ideas?
  • Artistic Ability - Is the child able to draw a human figure with a head, body, arms and legs?  Can the child use scissors and cut on a line?  Is the child able to follow directions and independently complete an artistic task to the best of their ability?
  • Print Awareness (concepts of print, language awareness) - uses of writing and reading, what print looks like, ways stories begin and end, left to right direction of writing and spacing of words, relationships between printed letters and speech sound and awareness of sound elements in language, such as rhyme, beginning sounds, syllables, and phonemes.
