Dear Parents
As you are trying to make a decision about putting your child in Ready to Read this coming year, I wanted to share my son’s experience with you. My son Finn has been attending Creative Kids since he was three. He started Ready to Read with Becky Roosdahl in September 2007 and it has been a great experience for him.
Attending his old preschool, a familiar environment, while developing such important skills has been very rewarding. He has always loved books and now takes great pride in being able to read the books he brings home for “homework”. His writing has improved tremendously over the year, going from very large letters to more controlled and legible letters that fit better on the lines! It seems that in Kindergarten, such an adjustment year, children are often ready to learn at different times. Finn is ready for challenges that are not necessarily provided in the Kindergarten environment. He has really benefited from the opportunity to practice his reading and writing in such a fun way. His favorite time during class is when Mrs. Roosdahl reads the “chapter books” and he likes to remind her if she forgets to show them the pictures.
I hope that your child has as much fun in class as ours did…reading is fun!
